Jolly New Year's Challenge

Barbara Sher issued a challenge and I am accepting it. She tells us to post on a blog every week in 2007. She suggests picking a project and working on it, but since I am a Scanner who never finishes much of anything, I have decided to begin the book I want to write.

My book is about my travels. I haven't been traveling much lately, but the few trips I have taken are still vivid in my imagination. A moment's pause, and I am back in Egypt, cruising down the Nile, or staring with awe at the carvings in a temple. Or I am back in Scotland, walking across Glasgow from the youth hostel to the city center, or catching the first glimpse of Edinburgh Castle as I stand beneath it on Prince's Street.

As per Barbara's suggestion, I will not make this blog chronological, but will post random stories as they occur to me. I believe that there are no coincidences, so whatever story I post must therefore have a raison d'etre, and I trust that.

I have to get ready for work right now, but I'll be back soon to post my first story. Are you ready?
