I'm going to Paris this summer. Woohoo! I am sooooo excited. I leave July 14, and return on the 28th. This is a study abroad opportunity with the SUPA (School of Urban Planning and Affairs) department at UTA (the University of Texas at Arlington). We're going to learn how to 'read' the city, and how Paris continues to grow and modernize in the midst of all of its history. I'm just happy to be a part of it, and finally get to continental Europe.
Here are some of the sites I'm going to see:
La Tour Eiffel (of course)
Notre Dame
L'Opera
Sacre Coeur
L'Arc de Triomphe
We'll take one day to go to the beach, and we also have a whole weekend to ourselves. Some of the students are planning trips to Rome. I'd love to see the lavender fields of Provence, but am not certain I'll have the funds for that. Even spending the weekend sitting on the banks of the Seine sounds like fun to me. I'd like to visit Shakespeare and Co., a bookstore of only English books.
So long, and thanks for all the dish...
